The Aqua Azul L-8-248 Replacement UVC Light Bulb is a 16 Watt germicidal water treatment bulb that comes with a total length of 14.06 inches and has a life of up to 9,000 hours. This UV-C bulb works well for the following germicidal UV-C system models:

Made using ceramic this UV-C bulb is a single pin double ended light bulb. The UV bulb is capable of protecting you from waterborne molds, bacteria, virus and other pathogens such as giardia and cryptosporidium. This cost-effective method of purifying water from contaminants comes with a UV intensity of 253.7 nm that can easily alter the DNA of microorganisms, rendering them harmless. Researchers believe that UV rays are capable of destroying 99.9% of the microorganisms in water. Germs that cause harmful bacteria and microorganismss such as Vibrio cholerae, influenza virus, hepatitis virus strains and organisms causing gastroenteritis can easily be destroyed with this method of purification. Since UV filters do not introduce chemicals in water, it is a purely physical state of change and a far better alternative to chlorination. Experts also state that it is necessary to replace the UV light bulb annually though it may continue to emit light for better efficiency.
