The Wedeco – AQ37087 UV Light Bulb For Germicidal Water Treatment is an 84 watts UV light bulb that comes with lead wire and connector on single end. The ceramic light bulb has an average lifespan of 10,000 hours and a length of 34.45 inches. The lamp makes use of UV-C light to inactivate and kill bacteria, molds, virus and other harmful pathogens present in water.
The light bulb is compatible with germicidal OEM water disinfection filters, UV water purifiers and sanitizers. The lamp is thoroughly tested and must be replaced annually for better efficiency. The UV lamp has a peak output of 254 nm. The energy reacts photo-chemically with the genetics of the microorganism and prevents them from reproducing. Studies are of the opinion that the UV water purification has the ability to destroy 99.9% waterborne microorganisms. This process of sterilizing water is a purely a physical process and does not alter the pH, taste or chemistry of water.
