The Biolite UVLB-1X Replacement UVC Light Bulb is a four-pin on a single-end water treatment bulb that has a lamp wattage of 39 watts. With a total length of 31.89″ and an arc length of 28.74″, the UVC light bulb from CureUV undergoes strict quality control measures. With a non-ozone glass type, the light bulb has 10,000 hours of life after which we recommend that you change the bulb even if it continues to emit light.

When water is exposed to UV light emitted from the bulb, it destroys germs that could possibly cause harmful bacteria and microorganisms such as organisms causing gastroenteritis, influenza virus, typhoid, hepatitis virus strains, and Vibrio cholera. Since UV filters do not introduce chemicals into the water and are in a purely physical state, it is a far better option than chlorination and its by-products. Do I need shatterproof coating?
Although shatterproof coating can lower the intensity of the UV-C bulb by as much as 15%, it is recommended for applications in which it is crucial to avoid potential glass breakage at all costs. These applications include but are not limited to food processing and medical institutions. However, if glass breakage would be inconvenient but not catastrophic, skipping the costly shatterproof coating is quite alright. After all, we do not use shatterproof coating with our glasses and plates at home.
