This is why a quartz plate is used. The quartz plate is known to protect the lamp from debris and works as a filter between the lamp and the curing system. It is shown that the quartz plate effectively prevents grit, dirt and contaminants from building up in the lamp.
An essential component of the print drying system is the replacement lamp. It helps in drying inks and coatings in graphics and signs, while the quartz plate acts as a filter to protect the lamp. Placed between the lamp and the substrate, the quartz plate does not absorb UV rays unlike ordinary glass plate but reradiates the rays at a temperature lower than that of the lamp. It is essential to clean the plate periodically to keep the lamp working in top condition.
