The generic equivalent to the TrojanUV – 6000080 UV Light Bulb For Germicidal Water Treatment has a total length of 61.18 inches and can last up to 10,000 hours. The replacement light bulb comes with single pin on both ends and is compatible for use with germicidal OEM water disinfection filters, UV water purifiers and sanitizers. The lamp is thoroughly tested and must be replaced annually for better efficiency.
The UV lamp has a peak output of 254 nm. The energy reacts photo-chemically with the genetics of the microorganism and prevents them from reproducing. Studies are of the opinion that the UV water purification has the ability to destroy 99.9% waterborne microorganisms. This process of sterilizing water is a purely physical process and does not alter the pH, taste or chemistry of water.
