The lamp uses UVC light to inactivate and kill 99.9% of bacteria, viruses, molds, yeasts, and protozoa present in water. The lamp emits a short wavelength of 254nm that acts on the genetics of the microorganisms and renders them harmless and incapable of reproduction.
