The Ideal Horizons –SHE-15 UV Light Bulb For Germicidal Water Treatment is a 41 watts single pin on both ends bulb that provides you with a worry-free performance for an entire year. The 39 watts UV bulb has a lamp length of 33.2 inches and a quartz diameter of 15 mm. the T5 shaped bulb is made using ceramic as its base material and has an average lifespan of 10,000 hours.
The light bulb is completely compatible with germicidal OEM water and air disinfection filters, ultraviolet purifiers, and UV sanitizers. Studies show that UV water purification has the ability to destroy 99.9% of waterborne microorganisms.
This method of sterilizing water is a purely physical process and does not alter the pH, taste, or chemistry of water and is a much better option than chemicals and their byproducts. This system provides protection against water contaminants such as yeast, cyst, bacteria, virus, and protozoa.

Do I need shatterproof coating?
Although shatterproof coating can lower the intensity of the UV-C bulb by as much as 15%, it is recommended for applications in which it is crucial to avoid potential glass breakage at all costs. However, if glass breakage would be inconvenient but not catastrophic, skipping the costly shatterproof coating is quite alright. After all, we do not use shatterproof coating with our glasses and plates at home.
