The Purely UV – PUVG1118 Air/water Treatment Germicidal UV Light Bulb is fully compatible with germicidal OEM water and air disinfection filters, ultraviolet purifiers and UV sanitizers. It is believed that the UV lamp is thoroughly tested and comes with a life of up to 10,000 hours after which the germicidal UV output diminishes while the lamp may continue to emit light. The UV lamp has a total length of 8.66″ inches and has a peak output of 253.7nm. This peak output energy reacts photo-chemically with the genetics of the microorganisms and prevents them from reproducing. Studies show that UV water purification has the ability to destroy 99.9% of waterborne microorganisms.
This method of sterilizing water is a purely physical process and does not alter the pH, taste or chemistry of water and is a much better option than chemicals and their byproducts. This system provides protection against water contaminants such as yeast, cyst, bacteria, virus and protozoa.
