The Siemens/Sunlight – LP4010 UV Light Bulb For Germicidal Water Treatment is a 61.18″ water treatment UV bulb that has single pin on both ends. The germicidal water treatment bulb has ceramic as its base material and wattage of 75 Watts. The worry-free water treatment bulb lasts for 10,000 hours after which we recommend that you replace the bulb even if it continues to emit light.
The light bulb emits short wave UV-C radiation with UV output peak of 254nm. This wavelength region is considered as maximum germicidal effectiveness and is highly fatal to microorganisms such as bacteria, virus, protozoa and other pathogens. The genetic material of the microorganism is deactivated when germicidal UV light passes through them and makes them incapable of multiplying. Researchers are of the opinion that this method of sterilizing water is a purely physical process.
