The Wedeco/Ideal Horizons – SHE15 UV Light Bulb For Germicidal Water Treatment is a 41 watts UV bulb that gives you a worry-free performance for an entire year. The 33.2 inches lamp comes with a single pin on both ends base and has an average lifespan of 10,000 hours.
The UV lamp emits a radiation of 254 nm and is considered to be highly lethal for microorganisms. Studies have shown that a UV water purification system can effectively destroy 99.9% of waterborne microorganisms. It provides a safe solution as this method of sterilizing water is a purely physical process and does not alter the chemistry, pH or taste of water.
The germicidal water treatment bulb comes with a shatterproof coating that protects the lamp during damage. The coating also keeps the lamp glass from falling into the unit. This results in easy disposal of glass if it shatters and renders it easy to operate the system. All you will need to do is to select the option above. The UV lamp starts instantly and makes use of a coil filament that operates hot.
