The Wedeco/Ideal Horizons – SV-10 UV Light Bulb For Germicidal Water Treatment is a four pin on a single end lamp bulb that gives you a worry-free performance for an entire year. The 17.72 inches lamp bulb has a T5 bulb shape and is made using ceramic as its base material. The 22 watts UV bulb has an average lifespan of 10,000 hours after which we recommend that you replace the lamp bulb even if it continues to emit light.
When water passes through the UV water treatment system, the microorganisms present in water are exposed to the light and their genetics is disrupted, thus inhibiting their ability to reproduce. This method destroys 99.9% harmful organisms in the water and does not alter the pH, taste or chemistry of water in the process. This method is a better alternative to adding chemicals and their byproducts in water. This system provides protection against water contaminants such as yeast, cyst, bacteria, virus and protozoa.
The germicidal water treatment bulb comes with a shatterproof coating that protects the lamp during damage. The coating also keeps the lamp glass from falling into the unit.
